It's Wednesday of our second week, and the weather continues to be amazing. We certainly timed things well this year. Actually, the past few days have been some of the hottest that we have ever experienced here. Even right next to the water, it's been hot and sticky. The beach that we go to, just down the road, has been full of people for the last few days, unlike any time that we can remember.
Mom and Dad arrived at about 6:00 PM on Monday. It's great to have them here, and we have been getting caught up. Mom seems to be doing much better, and she says that she may actually be feeling better than she did before she got so sick. I'm glad she's well, of course, but especially while they're traveling.
This afternoon, Aunt Susan and Uncle Jim will be here. We haven't had them visit with us here before, which seems hard to believe. I'm not sure why we didn't invite them up years ago. The afternoon is forecast to be in the low 90's. I expect we'll hang out on the porch, or maybe head down to the beach. In the early evening, we'll be heading to dinner in Rockland, and then we'll take a look at the Farnsworth museum. It's open, free to the public, this evening.
We'll head home on Saturday morning. We're still buzzing about picking up the dogs on the way home. This weekend, Maine may be facing it's first hurricane in the last 18 years. I'm sure of this since I know that Hurricane Bob came on shore on August 19, 1991 -- while we were on our honeymoon.
