Nathan Rides the Short Bus

This morning we all were awake by 5:30. That may never happen again. We are a cocktail of anticipation and anxiety, and although I wouldn't call the mood "volatile," one or more of us has been known to snap for a moment. But it's exciting to be starting a new year, and even more so, this year.

Our first day of school pictures took place at 6:25. Nate's bus left at 6:40, which was five minutes later than we were told. He expects to be at school a little before 8:00 AM.

This evening will be homework, stories, soccer practice and pasta (the sauce is already in the crock pot).
